International Odissi Festival

Registration

As per the Memorandum of Understanding on Aug 11, 2011 between IPAP(USA) and Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Center (GKCMORC), there will be one International Odissi Festival in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India during the period of Dec 23-30, 2011.  All festival performances will be held at Utkal Mandap, Rabindra Mandap and Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya for both International and National participants.

The Guinness Book of World Record for Largest Odissi Dance performance will be help at Kalinga Stadium comprising of 3000+ dancers.

During the meeting with Honorable Cheif Minister of Orissa on August 12, 2011, it was indicated that Mr Patnaik is very excited about the Guinness Book of World Records event and agreed to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of formation of Odisha with the event.  Honorable Chief Minister has assured all the financial assistance including inviting Honorable President of India, Mrs Pratibha Patil in his official capacity.

IPAP(USA) met Honorable Minister of Culture & tourism, Mr Prafulla Samal  on Aug 11, 2011.  Mr Samal supported IPAP(USA)'s effort to make a World Record in Indian Classical Dance and has determined to to help in making it a successful event.

Please NOTE that, GKCMORC is not accepting any registrations or applications from Odissi artists to participate in the festival.  GKCMORC has compiled a list of artists from their past festivals and maintains a dataset of qualified performers.  The rule of participating in every 3 years shall not be applicable to this International Odissi Festival.

  • Emailed with all supporting documentation in electronic format to ipap@odissi.us'. Video files can be uploaded to YouTube and Vimeo and link to it should be mailed. or
  • Mailed to postal address.
