Odissi dancer
I am a New Jersey based Odissi dancer.
I was initiated into dance by Guru Mayadhar Raut.In the US I have trained extensively with Guru Smt. Mitra Purkayastha and follow Guru Padmashree Murlidhar Maji's gharana. For the past few years I have performed for various organizations in the New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia area.
For me Odissi is undoubtedly an enchanting spiritual journey.
I offer kids and adults in the New Jersey/New York areas beginner and intermediate level Odissi dance classes at the Hindu Samaj mandir, Mahwah, NJ.

I live in San Diego county in California and learnt odissi dance and hindustani classical music in India for many years.
Although there are a lot of bharatnatyam dancers here, awareness of odissi dance is limited to Bengalis and some Indians.
I would love to get involved with your cause.
